Booted Men becomes Recon Boots
from Recon News
30 June 2009
As part of the continued evolution of the Recon sites we're updating the branding, logos and website addresses of the sites.
If you have received a message that you suspect may not be genuine – simply click the 'report member' button and our team will investigate and take any necessary action. And if you're chatting to a member and you're both using the Pilot, your messages now happen in real time.
• You can now send photos from your Recon galleries, but the even more exciting news is that you can send pics directly from your photo gallery on your personal device as well.
Please do not reply to the sender and do not send any personal details.
If you're unsure or need further information on how to identify spam or fraudulent messages, click the help link in the message centre or at the top right of every page. However, to ensure you're always directed to your current site and to make it easier for you to log in to Recon we suggest you now update your bookmarks to www.recon.com.
Genuine official messages from the Recon Team will display a red 'Recon Official Message' label in the message list and have a Recon logo background behind the message text.
We've also added a 'report member' button on all member originated messages. Please keep using the feedback link in the pilot to continue letting us know about your experience with the Pilot.
In the coming months, there will be more core features added and more updates.
Obviously, we still urge all members to remain vigilant and to report any concerns to our Customer Support Team.

BUILDING YOUR NEW RECON – NEW UPDATE
from Recon News
31 October 2023
We promised to keep you updated on Building Your New Recon, and if you're one of the lucky members using the new Pilot, you already know how incredibly busy the engineering team has been.
But if you're not, we want to share this exciting news with you too.
Our main focus has been on bringing more of the core features of the platform into the Pilot, and here's some of the exciting new updates that have been done.
• All Recon profiles have now been synced to the Pilot so you can view any other member's profile, even if they aren't participating in the Pilot.
Once completed, you'll notice a slight change to the logo, and the web address will display as leather.recon.com.

Recon Official Messages and added SPAM protection.
from Recon News
30 June 2009
We've added new security measures to help protect Recon members from SPAM, to help you identify official messages from Recon, and to report suspicious or offensive messages.
The "Recon Official Message" format has been designed to enable members to easily identify when a message centre message has been sent from the Recon Team.
www.worldleathermen.com will continue to redirect to the new address for the immediate future. This means that you've now got the ability to see everyone.
• All of the over 200 million Recon messages have now been synced to the Pilot so you can chat with any other member, even if they're not participating in the Pilot. No need to upload to your Recon profile gallery first.
• All messages and photos sent and received in the Pilot will also appear in your existing Recon profile, so if you feel the need to drop back into the current version of the platform, you won't lose any of your messages or pic uploads.
There's a lot more of the core features being added on, and we want to thank the Pilot users for the invaluable feedback they've been giving.
www.bootedmen.com will continue to redirect to the new address for the immediate future. However, to ensure you're always directed to your current site and to make it easier for you to log in to Recon we suggest you now update your bookmarks to www.recon.com.
