Currently expanding, Kiki will soon be unveiling a range of new bar spaces and cozy beer garden. The music video bar upstairs is also a must-see and enjoy two-for-one drinks from 7-8 p.m.

Larry’s Lounge is a gay neighborhood pub, with always-affordable drinks, solid happy hour specials, mouth-watering pub fare (see: sweet potato tots) and one of the city’s friendliest patios (you can bring your dog, too!).

They host shirtless nights and underwear night, too.

There's dancefloor upstairs, screens playing music videos and a very cheap happy hour.

Shirtless men drink free - 22:00 - 23:00 and men in underwear drink free between 00:00 - 00:30.

Happy hour goes on all night Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday.

Shaw's Tavern isn't a gay venue but it hosts gay events, such as Dinner-n-Drag every Sunday.

It can get quite busy. Known for its XL happy hour, it has quickly become a favorite among locals, offering a mix of humor and high energy in a no-frills environment. Its exciting events calendar includes themed karaoke nights, open mics, craft nights, drag shows, Latin nights and maker markets. Reserve time early.

Larry’s Lounge is a long-standing neighborhood bar known for its welcoming atmosphere, affordable drinks, and spacious, dog-friendly patio.

Known for its underwear parties and gritty charm, it caters to those looking for an “edgier” bar experience.

Kiki

One of DC’s newer LGBTQ+ venues, Kiki opened in 2022 in the former Velvet Lounge and Dodge City spaces. Space with the team is limited. Those aren’t all the tricks of the Trade, but you’ll have to visit to encounter the rest.

A two-level lounge and nightclub off U Street proudly serves as DC’s only Black-owned LGBTQ+ bar, created to quench the community’s thirst for an inclusive space.

DIK is frequented by an older crowd, but everyone is welcome. Night owls come alive here with electric music, dance parties and theme nights.

Through a Peruvian chicken joint and behind a vintage vending machine is a place where curiosity is encouraged and leather is guaranteed. It's often busy, and the music varies from contemporary tracks to diva classics.

It's roughly a 15-minute drive from Washington DC. Although Arlington can feel like a DC suburb, it's technically a county within Virginia.

The decor is satisfyingly over the top.

A  lively LGBTQ+ bar in the Shaw district of Washington D.C, Kiki hosts live drag shows, weekly events and exclusive deals.

There are two floors, each with separate bars

A great place to meet some gay locals in a laid-back environment. Spark kickstarts the day with coffee, pastries and cafe charm, then turns it up at sundown with DJs, drag trivia and zero-proof cocktails that pack a punch.

Next door to Spark Social House is Crush, a retro-inspired cocktail lounge and entertainment mecca for anyone and everyone.

Larry's Lounge has a low-key, relaxed vibe. The welcoming crowd and well-priced drinks make it a go-to destination for both locals and visitors.

As You Are Bar

More than just a bar, As You Are (AYA) doubles as a café by day and a dance lounge by night, creating an inclusive space for all members of the LGBTQ+ community.
