Bubblez Fest is returning to New Orleans from June 13 to 15 as a three-day extravaganza serving as a fundraiser for the upcoming documentary, Bubblez: Love, Drag. And let off in in the center of New Orlean's gay nightlife. neworleanspride.org The NOLA Pride Parade will liven up the streets of New Orleans on June 14 from 5 to 8 p.m., beginning and ending at Louis Armstrong Park and looping through the French Quarter with floats, performances, live music, and more. Expect rainbows, glitter, and plenty of food and drinks, music and drag shows. Did we miss an event? Whether you choose to swing a hammer, wield a paintbrush, recruit volunteers, or donate lunch and snacks, your support is valuable. The western-themed, queer dance party for women will feature DJs, dancers, a mechanical bull, and more.
Tea dances were a way that gay couples could openly be together and dance together in the 1940s and 1950s.
